This Signature-accredited course is ideal for those who already have competence in BSL at Level 3 and are interested in developing their skills and knowledge further.

By the end of the course, you will have developed an advanced knowledge of the structure and function of British Sign Language as well as an understanding of the Deaf Community
and Deaf Culture . In doing so you will be able to understand and use varied BSL in a range of work and social situations.

As part of the course you will also have 9 additional sessions at one of our Deaf clubs held in central London. Our Deaf Club sessions offer a supportive friendly environment for conversation practice and a place to build confidence in using sign whilst also providing you with direct access to Deaf Culture. You will have the opportunity to interact with different people and practice your receptive skills and learn regional variations.
 

This qualification is useful for those who work on a regular basis with Deaf people (for example social workers, teachers of the Deaf, communicators, voluntary workers, workers within Deaf organisations, schools, etc), those who aspire to work in these contexts, and those who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in British Sign Language.
